Conversational beginnings.
I would much rather sit and have a tea with you face to face for this conversation, Sometimes I wish the internet wasn’t invented.and we were forced to act in actual community…but I guess it’s got it’s perks. Thus, a tone-less typing will have to suffice until we can have coffee. I welcome the coffee when you have the time.
I would love to hear your thoughts, bounce things off of you, and hear the inner scrapings of your heart. That you agree, or that you disagree, but that we converse would be the goal of the following.
Truth be told, I’ve had quite the amount of things stirring on my heart lately and have not exactly been sure how to express them. . . so here I start…
I will be very honest with you.. I am the least of these when it comes to being an expert on the subject of worship. And To be even more honest, I don’t really know who is. How do you become an expert on worshipping the Lord? I love that the Bible describes worship in heaven as on-going, every time another facet of the glory of the Lord is revealed, the angels have something else to sing about.. ( want to read more on this? Check out John Bevere’s book “ Fear of the Lord”)… If the angels in Heaven who’s entire purpose in heaven is to worship- are always learning something new about the Lord .. who then would we be to think we are “ experts” on it? Ahh… then yet again sets in the graciousness of the Lord to reveal a bit more, and a bit more as we seek Him.. beautiful..
I love the credentials and qualifications do not mean jack in the Lord’s presence. I say that very respectfully, to those that have credentials coming out of your ears…And credentials are lovely, but they secure no one’s place in the kingdom… and if used in the wrong way can become a not-awesome tool for control and manipulation…and seem to do little more than prey on insecurities that are deep set within us when we don’t realize our security in the Lord… I’m just saying… who you are is not defined by your history of amazing accomplishments..how famous you are.. how many people you have “ led” into worship.. I also love that the amount that the Lord loves us has nothing to do with our file-folders worth of reasons that we should be counted worthy….
It’s funny to me how much we rely on titles… “ I am the….. of ….. and we have …. “. . And how for some unsubstantiated reason, that justifies our place in the kingdom of God …
Truth be told, in the Kingdom it’s quite the opposite.
I think it’s easy to believe the parts of the Bible that say “ We are co-heirs with Christ” “ I am more than a conquerer” “ All things work to the good of those who love God” … etc.
What about these…
“ The least shall be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven”
“ Let the little children come…for such is the Kingdom of heaven”
*Please reference every time Jesus was asked by what authority He did things in the Bible…
So, friends… I guess what I’m trying to say is this… What is the title of a “ Worship Leader” anyway? Tell me… I want to know…
You are worthy to worship the Lord because you are his son/daughter… period.

So, I’ve had this idea.
Actually, it wasn’t my idea. But. . a conversation for/with worship leaders, worshippers, people who like to worship the Lord, people who know much about music… people who know nothing about music… It will be filled with thoughts..good, bad, and indifferent…But a conversation nonetheless… Let’s talk…
I come in peace
